Saranya

Support for two sisters

Eleven-year-old Saranya was one of the 10 girls that Hope Unlimited supported in June this year in the wake of the devastating second wave of the Covid pandemic. The girl and her sister, who live in Chetpet village in Tiruvannamalai district, lost their mother in May 2021 to Covid. Their father is alive but an alcoholic and offers no support to the girls. Luckily, their aunt, who lives near them, looks after the two girls though she has little of her own. After initially supporting the two girls for two months, Hope Unlimited has decided to continue the support for Saranya and her sister until March 2021 so the two can continue their online classes and go to school when it reopens.
